Location:

Pay:
£100 (£10 a blog plus a bonus £30 if all blogs are submitted on time)
students needed

Your role:

To write and submit bi-monthly blogs which will be used on the Getting Ready website.  (see http://www.kingston.ac.uk/gettingready/student-life/blogs/ for past blogs done by students)

Aim:

To build on the “student experience” element of the getting ready website. To inform, reassure and engage applicants (starting Sept 2011). To provide an insight into student life through your own experiences as current students of the University, highlighting key topics when relevant.

You will be expected to write two blogs a month (starting mid January and ending in April).  These should convey what it is like to be a student here at Kingston University.  (There may be the opportunity for this project to be extended through to September - although this is still to be confirmed).

We would expect between 300 -800* words per blog to be submitted twice a month. (*can go over this(within reason) but should not be any less.)

Your blogs:

Your blogs should provide an insight into what life is like as a student at Kingston University.  You should try and cover a variety of different issues, especially any subject you feel may have relevance to applicants (such as sharing a house or managing your money/ part time work etc).

You do not just need to focus on uni either - you can cover anything you think is of interest - the idea is to just give an insight as to what you get up to!– but most importantly it should be informative, engaging and fun to read.

We may provide you with some topics which you can use to guide your blogs where relevant (for example attending an open day where you could draw on your memories of attending opendays.

You can provide photographs to give a touch of reality to your blogs too – but you must get written permission from anyone in the photograph which you will have to submit with the blog.

NB: Someone from the team will review your blogs before they are submitted onto the website, but this is not to censor you, more to just check things like spellings and grammar.  we will send the blogs back to you for amending if needed.

To apply for the job, please register your interest here, with a brief explanation as to why you think you are best for this role, what skills you can bring to the job and what you hope to gain from the job.

In addition, please send an email to k.gutteridge@kingston.ac.uk with an introductory blog.  If successful for the job, this blog will be used on the Getting Ready site as a welcome, so it should cover the following:

introduce yourself and give a bit of background about you

provide an insight into your past week or how you have found university so far - it is really up to you!

The closing date for applications is Monday 13th December, 5.30pm
