NEW DATE! 17 March Karaoke Evening @ Knights Park SU Bar

On Wednesday 17 March, Knights Park SU Bar hosts a fundraising karaoke evening from 7:30pm, which all KUSAs are welcome to attend.

Chris Ford will again be organising the karaoke - it is free entry and will not cost you anything to sing, however there is a twist....you can pay to stop someone singing and Chris will cut them off! This will cost £5 which can be a joint collection or paid individually with all the proceeds going towards a Fine Art Degree Show in June.

The people who sing their whole song win lots of prizes too, so the more people stop the singers, the more chance their is for others to win!

It is also St Patrick's day so promises to be a really good night with the more bad singers the better :)

Hope to see some of you there...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Bus Tours at Open Days

Hello

I just wanted to remind people that the Open Days Bus Tour ambassador job is up at the moment and that you can apply for it even if you have already applied for the Open Day. It looks to be a really fun job and one that will allow you to get out and about on the Open Days and talk to all the visitors.

Also if you haven't applied to work at the Open Day then it is not too late if you are interested.

The Open Days Set Up job advert will be going up later today.

Many thanks

Volunteering Project in India

The Kamla foundation is a charity organisation which sends students out to India every summer for 2 weeks. Volunteers help out in local communities in South India (tamil nadu). It is a great experience with the opportunity to help the local villages, experience different cultures and meet new people. The fee is between £400-500 which covers everything from flights, accomodation and food for the duration of the trip.

More information on the project can be found here: http://www.kamlafoundation.org/

Travel the world - student scholarships

Do you know a student who wants to travel, broaden their mind and do something to help others? If so, encourage them to apply for a Philip Russell Travel Scholarship.

Previous scholarship winners have worked with orphans in Brazil, developed drumming skills in Ghana and studied sharks in South Africa.

The scholarship was established in memory of Philip, a Kingston Business Studies graduate and keen traveller who died in the terrorist bombings in London on 7 July 2005. It funds travel and living expenses to the value of £5,000.

Charitable Donation in memory of Meesha

On behalf of everyone involved with KUSA we have made a donation to Great Ormand Street Hospital, which was one of Meesha's favourite charities. We also sent a card to her family sending our condolences.
